I get a lot of questions how and who does my hair.
And when I tell people that I manage these bad boys out myself people are typically shocked then stare at me disbelief.
Since I've been here in Atlanta there have only been three people to retwist my hair and that is because I am extremely picky when it come to my hair! Paired with the fact that you shouldn't have everybody and they mama in your head but that's for another day.
Managing my hair goes all the way back to grade school, back when i use to rock all kinds or crazy corn rows. I had my favorite cousin show me the basics and from there I was on my way! I had it all down to a science, that is until i got to college and realized that I didnt have nearly enough time to keep up with school, my social life, and managing a full time job and still be able to tighten up my corn rows weekly.
So i l asked a few of my friends that were locd what goes into up keep and from there I made the decision to join #locnation
I let one of their stylist, Greg, start me off and i asked hundreds of questions along the way! I knew I wanted to be able to maintain clean parts, have my hair look full and be able to get the styled without it looking so forced and Greg did just that. He, yes a guy started my loc journey, equipped me with the products to use and avoid, the direction I should be twisting and after a few retwist i was well on my way to doing it myself. The only times i would go to have them done professionally was when i wanted a style i was failing at and when i needed to have my parts adjusted.
Check out a few of my retwist jobs.
